DISCLAIMER & AUTHENTICITY POLICY

1. THE MANIFESTO OF THE IMPERFECT

  • Philosophy: At Yutiqaa, we believe that industrial perfection is the antithesis of soul. Our masterpieces are not manufactured; they are birthed on manual looms and shaped by human hands. We invite our Patrons to move away from the sterile uniformity of machines and embrace the “Artisanal Soul”—where every nuance tells the story of a weaver’s journey.
  • The Handloom Declaration: By acquiring a Yutiqaa creation, the Patron acknowledges that they are investing in a “Living Textile.” We formally declare that our products are woven on traditional hand-operated looms. This process inherently excludes the sterile uniformity of power-looms, making every piece a singular, non-replicable work of art.

2. THE “MARK OF THE WEAVER” (ACCEPTABLE VARIANCES)

As each Yutiqaa piece is handcrafted, certain variations are inherent to the process. These are not defects; they are the “thumbprints” of authenticity:

  • Texture & Weave: Occasional “slubs” (slight thickening of the yarn), weave knots, or minor “floaters” are natural occurrences in hand-spinning and hand-weaving. These variations confirm that the fabric has been created without the intervention of automated tension-correctors.
  • Natural Dyeing & Color: For pieces using vegetable or natural dyes (such as Indigo, Madder, or Myrobalan), shade variations across the fabric are expected. Natural dyes react uniquely to weather, water mineral content, and the artisan’s touch.
  • Dimensions: A variance of 2-5% in the stated length or width is standard in the handloom industry due to the manual tension applied during the setting of the warp and weft.

3. DIGITAL REPRESENTATION VS. PHYSICAL REALITY

Yutiqaa strives for the highest fidelity in digital presentation, yet we acknowledge the following limitations:

  • The Silk “Luster” Factor: Pure silk reflects light dynamically. A saree may appear differently under studio strobe lights on your screen (may vary with device) compared to natural sunlight or evening gala lighting.
  • Scale & Detail: While we provide high-definition macro photography & video, the physical “drape” and “hand-feel” (tactility) of a weave may vary from the visual perception on a 2D screen. Color rendering varies significantly between OLED, LCD, and mobile displays. We encourage Patrons to utilize our Concierge Video Call service to witness the scale of motifs and the density of the weave in real-time before dispatch.

4. THE AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEE & LAB VERIFICATION

Your trust is our most sacred asset. Every Yutiqaa consignment includes:

  • The Yutiqaa Certificate: Every consignment is accompanied by a physical, embossed/branded Yutiqaa Certificate of Authenticity. This document serves as the “Birth Certificate” of your masterpiece, documenting its origin, weave complexity, and the heritage cluster it belongs to.
  • Proactive Lab Reports: For all silk handlooms, we include a Silk Purity Lab Report (Silk Mark certified or equivalent) within the box. For other materials or handicrafts, purity reports are provided as necessary to validate the premium nature of the raw materials.
  • GI & Silk Mark: Where applicable, our products carry the Geographical Indication (GI) and Silk Mark Organization of India (SMOI) labels.

5. CARE & LONGEVITY DISCLAIMER

The lifespan of a Yutiqaa masterpiece is measured in generations, provided it is treated with the reverence it deserves:

  • User Responsibility: The Patron bears the responsibility of maintaining the textile’s integrity by adhering to the Yutiqaa Care Guide. This includes proper storage in breathable muslin bags, avoiding plastic enclosures, and ensuring the fabric is refolded periodically to prevent “line-cutting” on the silk fibers.
  • Oxidation: Genuine silver/gold “Zari” (metallic threads) will naturally undergo a slight darkening (oxidation) over decades. This is a definitive sign of purity and is cherished by collectors as a vintage patina. Note that oxidation of pure silver/gold zari is a slow, natural process that varies based on the local climate and humidity of the Patron’s residence.

6. LEGAL DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

  • Usage: Yutiqaa is not liable for structural damage, color fading, or fabric distress resulting from improper handling, storage, ironing at high temperatures, direct &/or long exposure to moisture, direct sunlight, perfumes, deodorants, and harsh chemicals.
  • Third-Party Services: Our liability ends at the point of successful delivery. Yutiqaa is not responsible for damages, shrinkage, or alterations caused by external tailors, local dry cleaners, or third-party embroidery services engaged by the Patron.
  • No Mechanical Warranty: Our products are sold as artisanal textiles. We do not provide warranties against “wear and tear” or color fading if the Yutiqaa Care Guide is not strictly followed.

Health & Allergies: While we prioritize natural materials, Yutiqaa is not liable for individual skin sensitivities or allergic reactions to specific dyes or fibers.
